AO Answer Title
What is AO Scan Frequency Cleanse in SEFI?
AO Answer Description
AO Scan Frequency Cleanse is a SEFI feature that blends selected frequencies with white, pink, brown, blue, or purple noise. Loren Swensen explained that users can scan to receive a suggested frequency, pair it with a noise option, use brown noise for nighttime support, use blue or purple noise for focus, and use binaural mode with headphones for deeper intentional sessions.
Excerpt
In this week’s Solex LLC call, AO Scan founder Loren Swensen shared one of the clearest breakdowns yet of Frequency Cleanse inside SEFI, including brown noise, binaural listening, frequency sweeps, AO Hub, AO rTMS, and the new SEFI Star imprinting and broadcasting device.
Every week, AO Scan Global transcribes and shares highlights from the Solex LLC weekly call because education matters. When you are part of the largest global community of AO Scan users, one of the best things we can do is make this information easier to find, easier to revisit, and easier to share.
This week’s call was one of my favorites in a long time because Loran Swensen, founder of AO Scan, was at the helm.
And when Loren teaches, he always unlocks gems.
This call covered several powerful pieces of the AO Scan ecosystem, but the main focus was the newer Frequency Cleanse feature inside SEFI, which stands for Subtle Energetic Frequency Imprinter. Loren also touched on the AO Hub, AO rTMS, and the new SEFI Star, a powerful imprinting and broadcasting device that takes frequency work into a whole new category.
At AO Scan Global, we create these weekly recaps so users around the world can learn, revisit, translate, and share. If you are reading from outside the United States, remember that the AO Scan Global website lets you click your country flag to translate the information into your preferred language.
Share it with your team. Share it with your clients. Share it with the people who are just starting to understand how much is inside the AO Scan.
This article is educational only. AO Scan is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. AO Scan Global’s own AO Hub and AO Scan product pages clearly include this type of non-medical educational framing and user-discretion language.
What Loren Swensen Covered on This Week’s Solex Call
The call began with company updates, incentives, Day of Discovery reminders, rank advancements, and top enroller recognition. Then Loren Swensen joined the call to teach on several key AO Scan features.
The main teaching points were:
- Frequency Cleanse inside SEFI
- Why Frequency Cleanse defaults to brown noise
- How to use white, pink, brown, blue, and purple noise
- How the scan feature selects a suggested frequency
- How Frequency Sweeps support Inner Voice
- Why binaural mode requires headphones
- How AO Hub expands the AO Scan ecosystem
- How AO rTMS connects through AO Hub
- Why SEFI Star is different from regular imprinting
- Why SEFI Star may be especially useful for people who imprint frequently
Loren explained that Frequency Cleanse is one of the newer features added to SEFI and described it as a tool for helping users work with frequencies that may feel heavy, stagnant, or unsupportive in the body field. He emphasized that Frequency Cleanse is more than a noise generator because the sounds can carry a selected or scanned frequency in the background.
What Is SEFI in AO Scan?
SEFI stands for Subtle Energetic Frequency Imprinter.
Inside the AO Scan ecosystem, SEFI is designed to work with frequencies in creative ways. Users often work with SEFI to imprint frequencies into items such as water, sugar pellets, SEFI Dots, or other personal objects. The AO Hub page on AO Scan Global describes S.E.F.I. as being designed to capture, amplify, and imprint frequencies that can be broadcasted or imprinted into an item or element.
This is one of the reasons AO Scan has become such a fascinating tool for biohackers, holistic practitioners, energy workers, frequency wellness enthusiasts, and families who want to explore the body through an energetic lens.
Frequency Cleanse now gives SEFI users another way to work with frequency through sound.
What Is AO Scan Frequency Cleanse?
Frequency Cleanse is a feature inside SEFI that combines noise-based audio with frequency delivery.
Loren explained that there are many noise machines on the market. People use them to sleep, focus, block out environmental noise, or create a calming background. However, the unique idea inside Frequency Cleanse is that the sound is not just sound. It can also carry a background frequency.
That is the key.
Frequency Cleanse includes five main sound options:
White noise
Pink noise
Brown noise
Blue noise
Purple noise
It also includes three Frequency Sweep options:
Short sweep
Medium sweep
Long sweep
According to Loren, these sounds have been tuned so that they can accept a background frequency and blend it into the noise. In other words, Frequency Cleanse is not just about listening to static or background sound. It becomes a delivery system for the selected energetic frequency.
Step-by-Step: How Frequency Cleanse Works
Here is the simplified step-by-step breakdown based on Loren’s teaching.
Step 1: Open SEFI Frequency Cleanse
Inside the AO Scan software, the user opens SEFI and selects Frequency Cleanse.
This is where the user can choose one of the noise options, select a frequency, or use the scan feature.
Step 2: Choose a Sound Option
The user may choose:
White noise
Pink noise
Brown noise
Blue noise
Purple noise
Each sound has a different feel and use case. Some are better for sleep. Others may be better for focus or active work.
Step 3: Choose or Scan for a Frequency
The user can manually select a frequency, such as a Solfeggio-style frequency or another frequency from the SEFI General database.
However, the user can also press the scan button.
This is where Loren said Frequency Cleanse becomes especially interesting. When someone does not know exactly what they need, they can allow the system to scan. Loren described this as a 3-to-5-second bio scan that reads what the user is energetically emitting at that moment and then suggests a frequency.
Step 4: Notice the Default Noise Selection
When the scan feature is used, Frequency Cleanse defaults to brown noise.
Loren said this was intentional.
He explained that brown noise was selected as the default because it includes the range of frequencies the ear can hear, while emphasizing lower frequencies. He described brown noise as especially useful when the goal is calming, grounding, sleep support, or mental settling.
Outside AO Scan, scientific and wellness conversations around broadband noise are also growing. A 2024 systematic review found that white and pink noise may provide a small benefit on laboratory attention tasks for individuals with ADHD or high ADHD symptoms, although the evidence is not universal and more research is needed.
Step 5: Override the Noise if Desired
Loren made an important point: brown noise is the default, but it is not mandatory.
If brown noise does not resonate with the user, they can choose another option.
That matters because frequency wellness is personal. Some people love brown noise. Others may prefer pink, white, blue, or purple depending on what they are doing and how their nervous system responds.
Step 6: Use Brown Noise for Nighttime Frequency Cleanse
Loren described brown noise as a “warm blanket” for the mind and body.
That is a beautiful way to think about it.
He suggested Frequency Cleanse as a nighttime tool because sleep is when the body does much of its repair, restoration, and emotional processing. From a conventional science perspective, sleep is widely understood to support memory, immune function, metabolism, emotional regulation, and nervous system restoration. Sound-based sleep tools are also being studied, including auditory stimulation and binaural approaches.
In AO Scan terms, the idea is to use Frequency Cleanse to release the day’s energetic “static” and support a more coherent field before and during sleep.
Step 7: Use Blue or Purple Noise for Focus
Loren also explained that blue and purple noise are not the sounds he would choose for sleep.
Instead, he suggested blue or purple noise while working, especially for people doing computer work or mentally intense tasks. He described them as more activating and said they may support higher brainwave states associated with focus.
That makes this feature incredibly useful beyond bedtime.
Think about the possibilities:
Deep work
Writing
Research
Client notes
Studying
Creative projects
Content planning
Focused office time
For AO Scan users who already love Inner Voice and MindSync, Frequency Cleanse creates yet another way to use sound and frequency intentionally throughout the day.
Step 8: Use Frequency Sweeps With Inner Voice
Loren also explained the three Frequency Sweep options.
The three sweeps do the same thing. The difference is the duration.
The sweep moves through the 12 primary notes used in Inner Voice. It sweeps down to one note, holds that note for three seconds, and repeats that process through all 12 notes. The short, medium, and long options determine how long the sweep takes.
Loren described Frequency Sweep as a beautiful complement to Inner Voice. He said it can be used before or after Inner Voice and that either way, it reinforces what Inner Voice is bringing forward.
For everyday AO Scan users, this is a practical takeaway:
Run Inner Voice.
Then follow with a Frequency Sweep.
Or run the sweep first.
Either way, experiment and notice how your body, mind, and mood respond.
Step 9: Use Binaural Mode Only With Headphones
This was one of the most important parts of Loren’s teaching.
If you select binaural mode, you must use headphones.
Loren explained that binaural mode sends different information to each ear. The right ear receives one frequency pattern. The left ear receives another. The brain then focuses on the difference between them.
He gave the example of choosing 369 Hz. In binaural mode, 369 Hz is not simply played into both ears. Instead, two different frequencies are delivered separately, and the brain perceives the difference as the intended frequency.
That is why binaural listening does not work properly through an open speaker.
Research on binaural beats is still mixed, but the basic mechanism is widely described as the brain perceiving a third tone or beat based on two different frequencies presented separately to each ear. A 2023 systematic review noted that binaural beat stimulation has been studied for effects on brain oscillatory activity, though findings vary by protocol and outcome.
*Did you know binaural beats were famously explored in the CIA-reviewed Gateway Experience research developed by the Monroe Institute? The process used slightly different frequencies played into each ear to help synchronize the brain’s hemispheres — a concept known as Hemi-Sync®. Researchers believed these synchronized states could support deep relaxation, meditation, focus, creativity, and altered states of awareness.
Today, binaural beat technology continues to be explored by wellness enthusiasts, meditators, neuroscientists, and frequency practitioners around the world. With the new SEFI Frequency Cleanse options inside the AO Scan ecosystem, users now have the ability to experiment with layered frequency experiences in entirely new ways. The question is… what frequencies will you explore today?
Step 10: Use Binaural Mode for Seated, Intentional Sessions
Loren made another important distinction.
Binaural mode is not what he recommends for sleeping overnight.
For sleep, he suggested turning binaural off and using a speaker, pillow speaker, or other appropriate audio setup.
For binaural mode, he suggested a more intentional session:
Pick your tone.
Pick your music or noise.
Pick your frequency.
Click binaural.
Put on headphones.
Sit in a chair.
Close your eyes.
Let the session run.
This is a wonderful way to use Frequency Cleanse when you want to focus on a project, emotional pattern, mental clarity, or a specific area of intention.
Why Brown Noise Matters in Frequency Cleanse
The brown noise part of this call deserves its own section because this is likely one of the biggest questions AO Scan users will ask:
Why does Frequency Cleanse keep choosing brown noise?
According to Loren, it defaults to brown noise on purpose.
Brown noise includes a broad range of audible frequencies but emphasizes the lower tones. Many people describe it as deeper, softer, more grounded, and less sharp than white noise.
White noise can feel like static.
Pink noise can feel like rain or wind.
Brown noise can feel like thunder, deep ocean, or a low rumble.
Loren described brown noise as helping the body and mind feel more synchronized. He also mentioned anxiety, ADD, and ADHD as areas where many people may find brown noise supportive from an experiential standpoint.
Scientific research on brown noise specifically is still limited. However, research on broadband noise and ADHD has found some support for white and pink noise in attention tasks among people with ADHD traits, while also emphasizing that results vary and more study is needed.
From an AO Scan user perspective, the best approach is to experiment thoughtfully.
Try brown noise at night.
Try pink noise when you want something softer.
Try blue or purple during focused work.
Notice what feels best.
Track your patterns.
Use AO Scan as an educational tool, not a diagnosis.
The AO Hub: The Interface That Expands AO Scan
After teaching on Frequency Cleanse, Loren moved into the AO Hub.
He described the AO Hub as a powerful tool because it allows the AO Scan to interface with additional devices. Since AO Scan processing is cloud-based, the Hub gives physical accessories a way to connect with the AO Scan system.
AO Scan Global’s AO Hub Starter Kit page describes the Hub as a device that connects with AO Scan and acts as a conduit for integrating emerging modalities as they are developed and released. The page also notes that AO Hub is designed to work with AO Scan and requires an AO Scan subscription for full use.
Loren specifically mentioned that the AO Hub may allow users to connect or work with tools such as:
AO Infinity Foot Detox & Waistband, AO Infinity PEMF Mat and other future accessories
The big idea is this:
AO Hub turns AO Scan into a more expandable wellness platform.
For a wellness center, clinic, biohacking space, or large family, that matters.
AO Hub and Frequency-Modulated Lasers
One of the most exciting examples Loran gave was lasers.
He explained that with AO Hub, lasers can be connected and programmed with specific frequencies from the AO Scan and SEFI. In his words, those frequencies can modulate the light coming from the laser.
That is a very different concept than simply using a laser as a standalone light device.
This is where AO Scan Global can educate practitioners beautifully. The future of frequency wellness is not just one tool. It is an ecosystem.
A scan.
A frequency.
A delivery method.
A user experience.
A pattern noticed over time.
A practitioner or family member learning how to support balance in a more personalized way.
AO rTMS: What Loran Said
Loran also touched on AO rTMS.
The correct formatting is AO rTMS.
AO rTMS stands for repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, and in the AO Scan ecosystem, it connects through the AO Hub. AO Scan Global’s AO rTMS product page describes it as a non-invasive magnetic stimulation device designed to support mental clarity, emotional balance, sleep, and brainwave harmony when paired with AO Hub and AO Scan Technology.
Loran described it as a way to focus a mild magnetic field into the brain and encouraged users to research rTMS further. He did not go deeply into the science on the call, but he positioned AO rTMS as another add-on that makes AO Scan more versatile.
Again, it is important to keep the language educational and non-medical. We are not making disease claims. We are describing the technology and how users may explore it within the AO Scan system.
SEFI Star: The New Imprinting and Broadcasting Device
The final major teaching section was AO SEFIStar.
Loren described SEFI Star as one of the newer additions to the scanner ecosystem and said it opens up new avenues for imprinting and broadcasting that are more limited when using only the AO Scan device itself.
This is where the call got especially exciting.
Many AO Scan users already imprint from their phone or computer. So Loren addressed the obvious question:
Do you need SEFI Star?
His answer was honest and useful.
No, you do not need it.
You can continue using the AO Scan the way you already do. But if you are doing a lot of imprinting, SEFI Star may become one of those tools that changes your standard.
He compared it to buying a first house. At first, the smaller house works. It gives you shelter and does what you need. Later, as your life expands, you may want more space, more freedom, and more capability.
That is how he described SEFI Star in relation to AO Scan.
How SEFI Star Is Different From Regular Imprinting
Loran explained that regular imprinting introduces a frequency to an item in a simple, effective way.
SEFI Star takes that same information and delivers it with more power and more pathways.
He described SEFI Star as introducing frequencies through multiple methods, including:
Light
Induction coil
Star coil
Sound
Magnetic or coil-based delivery
The object is placed on top of the SEFI Star, and the information is directed into that object. This could be a photo, sucrose pellets, a crystal, or another item being used for imprinting.
Loran used the language of “etching” to explain the difference.
Regular imprinting sends the frequency.
SEFI Star etches it more deeply.
He clarified that this does not mean the frequency is permanent. It means the imprint is stronger.
That is an important distinction and should be included clearly in the blog.
SEFI Star and the Copy Machine Analogy
Loran gave a great analogy.
He compared older copy-machine-style transfers to a stronger modern print where you can see more ink on the paper. His point was that etching places more of the information into the object compared with a lighter transfer.
That is an easy way to explain SEFI Star to a new AO Scan user:
Regular imprinting is like a lighter transfer.
SEFI Star is like a deeper print.
Not permanent.
Just stronger.
This is exactly the kind of explanation practitioners can use with clients when someone asks why they would invest in SEFI Star if they can already imprint.
SEFI Star and X-Ray Exposure
One of the most interesting details Loren shared was about shipping and travel.
He said that items etched or imprinted with SEFI Star have been found to still carry measurable frequency after passing through an X-ray machine at the post office, whereas items that are only regularly imprinted may lose a greater portion of frequency viability after X-ray exposure. He also mentioned that shipped items may pass through X-ray more than once, and travel through TSA may also affect regularly imprinted items.
This is a strong practical reason why SEFI Star may matter for practitioners who prepare imprinted items for clients.
Especially if they ship:
SEFIDots
Sugar pellets
Crystals
Bottled items
Frequency-imprinted materials
Client-specific frequency supports
For a practitioner, that matters. For a global team, that really matters.
Who May Want SEFI Star?
SEFI Star may be especially interesting for:
AO Scan practitioners
Frequency wellness professionals
Energy medicine practitioners
Biohackers
Holistic clinics
Naturopaths
Chiropractors
Massage therapists
Emotion Code practitioners
Wellness centers
Pet wellness practitioners
Anyone imprinting frequently
Anyone mailing imprinted items
Anyone who wants a stronger imprinting experience
Loren called SEFI Star a “nicety,” not a necessity. That is a perfect way to frame it.
It is not required to use AO Scan.
It is not required to benefit from SEFI.
It is an upgrade for people who want stronger imprinting and broadcasting capability.
Why This Call Matters for AO Scan Users
This call matters because it reminds users how much is already inside AO Scan.
Many people use only a small portion of the scanner. They may run Inner Voice. They may run EZ Scan. They may occasionally run Vitals or Comprehensive. But AO Scan is much deeper than that.
Loran’s teaching reminds us to revisit the tools we may be underusing:
SEFI
Frequency Cleanse
Inner Voice sweeps
Binaural mode
Brown noise
Blue and purple noise
AO Hub
AO rTMS
SEFI Star
This week’s contest question was also perfect:
Which part of the scanner do you underutilize, and why?
That is a question every AO Scan user should ask.
