In recent months, several prominent MLM companies have significantly changed their compensation structures, moving from traditional multi-level marketing (MLM) models to affiliate-only structures. This transition has affected the earnings and business operations of tens of thousands of distributors. Companies like Seint and Rodan + Fields are among those that have shifted to an enhanced affiliate model, eliminating team-building commissions and focusing solely on customer sales​ (Seint)​​ (DSN)​. This may be great for some, but it is detrimental for others.

Seint, for example, announced that starting October 1, 2024, it will no longer provide compensation for recruiting or team-building efforts. Similarly, Rodan + Fields will implement its new affiliate program on September 1, 2024, streamlining the experience for its consultants and focusing on customer engagement and product sales​ (DSN)​.
