If you spend much time around biohackers, wellness enthusiasts or longevity-minded people, you know this conversation.
“Have you tried this?”
“Are you taking that?”
“You don’t cold plunge?”
“What red-light panel do you use?”
“Have you tried peptides?”
“What supplements are you taking?”
At times, biohacking can start to feel less like wellness and more like a competitive sport.
And I say that affectionately because I am absolutely one of those people.
I love wellness technology. I love learning. I love experimenting. I am fascinated by how nutrition, light, sound, frequencies, movement, sleep, emotions, stress and environment may influence how we feel and function.
But after years of living in this world, I have become far less impressed by the person doing the most things.
I am much more interested in the person asking the best questions.
And one of my favorite questions is:
What If You Don’t Need It?
That question changes the conversation.
You hear that a supplement supports energy.
Great.
Someone says a particular nutrient supports healthy aging.
Interesting.
A podcast host swears by it.
A celebrity takes it every morning.
*Do you really think that people like Dave Aspery, Ben Greenfield, and other famous biohacker wellness influencers take every single supplement they sell or speak about everyday? The answer is NO……and either should you. If something is good for your body on a Monday, it does’t mean that it;s going to be right for your body on a Tuesday. Scan & Know. Paige Maurer Wheeler, AO Scan Global, Biohacker
Wonderful.
But none of those things answer this:
Does that automatically mean it is a priority for you today?
That distinction sits at the center of how I approach biohacking.
I do not want to collect therapies simply because they exist.
I want information that helps me decide where to focus.
Has Biohacking Become Too Much?
There has probably never been a more interesting time to care about wellness.
Today’s biohacking world includes cold exposure, sauna, red-light therapy, fasting, wearables, continuous glucose monitors, supplements, nootropics, PEMF, peptides, breathwork, grounding, nervous-system work, genetic testing and personalized nutrition.
Some approaches have substantial research behind specific uses.
Some are emerging.
Some are experimental.
And some are simply fascinating.
The problem is not biohacking.
The problem begins when optimization becomes accumulation.
One supplement becomes ten.
One therapy becomes six.
One wearable becomes four dashboards you check before breakfast.
One wellness routine becomes so complicated that managing your health begins creating its own form of stress.
At some point, more information can create less clarity.
So instead of asking:
What is the best biohack?
I prefer asking:
What Deserves My Attention Right Now?
That is where AO Scan became such an important part of my personal biohacking routine.
AO Scan is an educational frequency wellness technology that compares information assessed through the system with a library of more than 120,000 Blueprint Frequencies.
The technology evaluates approximately 170,000 points and organizes information through multiple scan programs and reports.
I do not use that information as a medical diagnosis.
I use it as information.
More specifically, I use it to look for:
- patterns
- repetition
- changes over time
- areas that repeatedly capture my attention
- questions I may want to investigate further
That is the distinction.
I do not need one scan to declare that something is “wrong.”
Sometimes I am much more interested in what keeps appearing.
One Result Is Interesting. Repetition Gets My Attention.
Suppose I run an AO Scan and an emotional frequency appears in association with information involving the endocrine system.
I notice it.
I do not immediately decide that an emotion caused an endocrine problem.
Then I scan again another day.
The same theme appears.
Later, I see it again.
Now I am curious.
That recurring information may influence what I choose to explore with AO Scan’s optimization tools, including brain-entrainment frequencies associated with emotional and nervous-system support.
Instead of throwing ten random interventions at myself, I now have something specific to investigate.
That is a completely different experience from:
“Someone online said everybody should do this.”
Stop Guessing. Start Scanning.
I see this distinction constantly with supplements.
I have a large personal collection of supplements available to me.
That does not mean I take all of them every day.
One of the ways I use AO Scan is to evaluate my supplement options and look at which ones appear most relevant or resonant within the system at that particular time.
Maybe a handful rise to the top.
Those are the ones I consider.
Tomorrow?
The results may look different.
Which brings me right back to one of my favorite questions:
What If You Don’t Need It Today?
Something can have a legitimate benefit and still not automatically become your body’s priority right now.
That is where personalized biohacking becomes much more interesting.
Not when we stop experimenting.
When we stop experimenting blindly.
Sometimes the Most Valuable Insight Is the One You Weren’t Looking For
This is one of the reasons I value repeated scanning.
Most people naturally focus on what they already know.
If a practitioner has told someone to pay attention to Epstein-Barr virus, for example, that may become the center of their entire wellness strategy.
They start researching EBV.
They buy supplements associated with EBV support.
They build routines around EBV.
They may spend months looking at everything through that one lens.
But what if another pattern keeps appearing?
What if repeated AO Scan information keeps drawing attention to something else entirely?
Maybe mold-related frequency information appears.
Maybe stress patterns appear.
Maybe nutritional patterns rise repeatedly.
Maybe emotional information keeps showing up.
That does not mean AO Scan has diagnosed mold.
It does not prove mold caused viral activity.
It does not tell us to ignore conventional medical testing.
It gives us something incredibly useful:
Another Question to Ask
That is where I think wellness technology becomes powerful.
Sometimes the breakthrough is not getting an answer.
Sometimes it is realizing you have been asking too narrow a question.
When a pattern keeps appearing, I may decide it deserves deeper investigation.
That investigation could be through another AO Scan module.
It could be through lifestyle changes.
It could mean reviewing the environment.
It could mean discussing the pattern with a knowledgeable healthcare practitioner.
It could mean deciding that conventional testing makes sense.
The important part is that I am no longer operating from only one assumption.
I have more information.
And information can change direction.
AO Scan Does Not Have to Replace Testing to Be Valuable
This is an important distinction.
I do not look at AO Scan as a replacement for blood work, imaging, functional medicine testing or a qualified healthcare provider.
Those tools answer different questions.
What I value about AO Scan is that I have access to it regularly.
I can look at patterns over time.
I can explore information without scheduling a new appointment every time I become curious.
I can use it as a first layer of information before deciding whether something deserves deeper attention.
That matters to me.
Because biohacking can become very expensive very quickly.
Specialized labs.
Practitioner appointments.
Devices.
Therapies.
Supplement protocols.
Longevity clinics.
Testing packages.
Repeat testing.
There is certainly a place for all of those things.
But I do not believe the smartest approach is necessarily to purchase every test and every therapy simply because they exist.
*The AO Scan is only $149 a month. Most of my functional medical doctors charge $200-$300 for only ONE set of AO Scan. Get the same AO Scan yourself to use with your family and friends and watch your body field all month long. Paige Maure Wheeler
I would rather gather information, identify areas that deserve attention, and then decide where spending more time, money or energy may actually make sense.
Biohack Less. Know More.
That may sound strange coming from someone who loves biohacking.
But this is probably the direction my own wellness philosophy has moved the most.
I am not interested in doing less because I have stopped caring.
I am interested in doing less randomly.
There is a difference.
I still love red light.
I still pay attention to nutrition.
I still care about sleep, movement, nervous-system regulation, recovery, supplementation and emerging wellness technologies.
I am simply less willing to assume that everything useful needs to be used by everyone all the time.
That is why the phrase has become so simple for me:
Biohack Less. Know More.
Because if I know more, I can choose better.
And if I choose better, I may not need to do everything.
The Smarter Biohacking Framework
This is the framework I tend to follow:
1. Assess
Gather information before adding another intervention.
What patterns are showing up?
What is changing?
What keeps appearing?
What is actually getting your attention?
2. Prioritize
Not everything needs to become today’s project.
Choose the areas that appear most relevant.
That may be one emotional pattern.
One body system.
One supplement.
One lifestyle behavior.
One question you want to investigate.
3. Optimize
Then use the tools that make sense.
That might include an AO Scan optimization.
It could include Inner Voice or brain-entrainment frequencies.
It might mean adjusting your supplement choices.
It may mean getting more sleep, changing a routine, addressing stress or discussing something with a practitioner.
The important part is that the intervention follows the information.
Not the other way around.
4. Reassess
Then scan again.
Look at what changed.
Look at what did not.
Look at what continues to repeat.
Biohacking becomes much more useful when it is a feedback loop instead of a shopping list.
Can You Do Too Much Biohacking?
I think you absolutely can do too much of almost anything.
More is not always better.
More supplements are not automatically better.
More therapies are not automatically better.
More tracking is not automatically better.
Even wellness can become stressful when every moment of the day becomes another optimization project.
Sometimes the body needs intervention.
Sometimes the body needs support.
Sometimes it needs rest.
Sometimes it needs time.
The body already contains extraordinary regulatory systems.
My goal is not to micromanage every biological process.
My goal is to provide useful information and support conditions that encourage balance.
That is a very different mindset from constantly assuming something needs to be fixed.
What Is the Best Biohack for Beginners?
My answer may surprise people:
Start by learning to observe.
Before buying five devices and twenty supplements, get curious about your own patterns.
Pay attention to sleep.
Energy.
Stress.
Mood.
Digestion.
Movement.
Recovery.
Environment.
Habits.
Then use technology as a tool to create more clarity.
For people interested in AO Scan, I usually encourage them to start slowly.
Learn what the information means.
Do not feel obligated to run every scan constantly.
Look at patterns.
Use the interactive tools.
Give yourself time to understand what you are seeing.
The information can be just as valuable as the optimization frequencies themselves.
Can AO Scan Help Personalize Supplements?
AO Scan includes tools that allow users to build and evaluate a personal library of supplements and therapies.
I use that feature because I do not want to assume that every supplement in my cabinet needs to be taken every morning.
Instead, I can look at which options appear most relevant within the system at that time and use that information as part of my decision-making.
That does not turn AO Scan into a prescription tool.
It gives me another layer of information.
And sometimes that is exactly what I need.

How Often Should You Use AO Scan?
There is no prize for scanning everything constantly.
I believe the information becomes more useful when you understand what you are looking at and allow yourself to notice patterns over time.
Some people use specific AO Scan features daily.
Others scan less frequently.
What matters is not simply frequency.
It is whether the information is helping you make better, more intentional wellness choices.
If you want a deeper explanation of how I personally use AO Scan and how often I recommend scanning, see AO Scan Usage: How Often Should You Really Scan?
So, What Is My Biggest Biohack?
If you ask me the same question from the cartoon—
“What is your biggest biohack?”
I can give you a long list.
I could talk about red light.
Fasting.
Supplements.
Grounding.
Movement.
Brain entrainment.
Recovery tools.
Sleep.
Frequency technology.
And yes, probably a few wonderfully weird things too.
But the reason AO Scan stays so high on my list is simple:
It Helps Me Decide What Deserves My Attention.
It gives me information.
It gives me patterns.
It gives me another way to ask better questions.
And sometimes the best biohack is not another intervention.
It is clarity.
Stop Guessing. Start Scanning.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is biohacking?
Biohacking is the broad practice of using lifestyle strategies, technology, nutrition, tracking tools and other interventions to support performance, wellness, recovery or longevity.
How does AO Scan fit into biohacking?
AO Scan can be used as an educational frequency wellness tool to help users notice recurring patterns, compare information with Blueprint Frequencies and make more intentional choices about where to focus their wellness routine.
Can you do too much biohacking?
Yes. Biohacking can become counterproductive when people continuously add supplements, therapies, devices and tracking tools without a clear reason or priority. More is not automatically better.
How can you personalize a biohacking routine?
Start by gathering information, noticing patterns, choosing a few areas to prioritize, applying appropriate wellness strategies and then reassessing over time.
Can AO Scan help you evaluate supplements?
AO Scan includes a Supplements and Therapies Library that can be used to compare items within the system and identify which options appear most relevant at that time. It is an educational wellness tool, not a prescription system.
Does AO Scan replace medical testing?
No. AO Scan does not replace laboratory testing, imaging, diagnosis or care from a qualified healthcare provider. It can be used as an additional informational wellness tool.
How often should you use AO Scan?
Usage depends on the individual and the feature being used. The goal is not to scan constantly, but to understand the information, notice repetition and use the technology intentionally.
